Facebook puppy scam takes in Clare woman May 31, 2021 THE dangers of commerce on Facebook were brought into focus this week with Clare people falling foul of scams. A woman in Kilrush made contact with a man that was selling puppies on the social media platform. A conversation took place between them on Messenger and the man asked the woman to get €100 in Pay Safe cards and send him the codes, which she did. He then said that a pet delivery company would deliver the puppy, but required another €20 another Pay Safe card for this. She duly sent him the code for this card.
