In from the left here. and that cloud would have been a no go constraint as well, so all aound, big frustration, but we are hoping them that we will be back on friday, that we will have another go. so keep your fingers crossed. just, jonathan, explain the wider significance of this mission because some viewers might say, well, hang on, we went to the moon half a century ago. what s all this about? yeah, indeed, and if you look at this rocket and the capsule that s on the top, you kind of say, well, it looks a bit like the saturn v and a bit like the apollo command module. and indeed they do, and part of that is because the physics has not changed in 50 years, you ll have noticed that, but believe me, there is a tremendous amount of new technology in these vehicles. much more lift on this rocket to put an awful lot more payload, cargo in low earth orbit and then send it to the moon. because if you go back to apollo, they only went for, you know, hours and days. ....

Of the sls and european service module there and these things happen, we have to go on the side of caution and we much want to learn as much as possible from this. when you say err on the side of caution, there is a safety issue here, isn t there? because there is a huge potential payload with this rocket? yes, there were a number of failures that could have been acceptable and still gone ahead with the launch, but if one engines having a problem and there is a potential loss of thrust and the rocket simply won t make it into orbit or it will be on the wrong trajectory for the moon, so this is absolutely a critical part of that has to be resolved. how important do you think this mission is? just give us some context of why we should care about this mission. this mission is the beginning of the entire artemis programme that will see multiple launches of not just this sls rocket, but a new rocket that is being built by spacex, for example, their starship launcher, another large vehicle a ....

As was pointed out, since the last space shuttle launch in 2011 and longer since we flew a mission to the moon, that was intended to carry humans, last time was 1972, of course, with apollo 17, so almost 50 years later, here we are finally about to launch the first large rocket from u.s. shores, 8.8 million pounds of thrust at leftoff. pays less payload to orbit than the saturn 5. nonetheless a huge rocket. always exciting when there is he a launch of a new vehicle. there are record numbers of people in florida about to witness this hopefully tomorrow morning. this has been an incredible road trip for folks, quite an occasion to get in the car, get there and find a parking space, whatever you can do to be there to witness it. so this mission it is a prelude to what nasa is hoping are even bigger things like helping to establish a sustainable lunar ....

Military advantage to the ukrainians. we will come back to that, but let s talk more about the military aspect for a moment. it is nearly six months into the russian invasion and this seems like a 180 turn for the ukrainian forces in terms of their successes against russian troops. tell us more about the tactics and weaponry they are using, and why it is suddenly punching through? right, so, what i understand is that these are referred to as drones, but i would think of them more as kind of kamikaze missiles. these are not returning, they are not dropping a payload, they are flying through russian airspace and essentially detonating into, in this case, the black sea fleet in crimea. so these are not. they are sort of death by a thousand cuts, of sending large numbers of these through. and some may get shot down, but it is unclear whether or how many were shot down, but even if a couple get through, which seems to be the case here, that really kind of reveals some weakness on the part o ....
