Read More News at >> A brush fire forced the closure of Highway 89 near the Lockett Meadow turnoff Thursday afternoon. Forest service officials say the “Peaks Fire” burned about two acres and it started at around 12:30 p.m. just off the highway. Both directions of Highway 89 were closed for over two hours while crews from the Forest Service, Summit Fire and Medical, and others worked the fire.
