DOZENS of new homes could soon be built on the southern edge of a Somerset town after revised plans were put forward.

A SOMERSET site once earmarked for a supermarket could become home to dozens of new houses under new proposals.

A DEVELOPER hopes to start selling new homes on a site near Wellington before improvements to a roundabout it is supposed to carry out ahead of the properties being occupied. Bovis Homes has pledged to still undertake the work at a later date on the roundabout linking the new estate in Rockwell Green to the A38 via Exeter Road. Bovis, now part of the Vistry Group, bought the land from Gladman Developments, which had won permission at appeal for 205 houses and a 60-bed care home on land west of Bagley Road.
