The New York Mets finalized their $3.35 million, one-year contract with Japanese pitcher Shintaro Fujinami on Wednesday. A 29-year-old right-hander, Fujinami can earn an additional $850,000 in performance bonuses for games: $100,000 for 35 and $250,000 each for 40, 55 and 60. New York placed infielder Ronny Mauricio on the 60-day injured list as he covers from a torn right ACL sustained on Dec. 10 while playing in the Dominican Winter League.

Cuban pitcher Yariel Rodríguez’s $32 million, five-year contract with the Toronto Blue Jays contains options, escalators and performance bonuses that allow the 26-year-old right-hander to earn up to $47.5 million as a starter and $37.5 million as a reliever. Rodríguez gets an $8 million signing bonus payable upon approval of the deal by the commissioner’s office, according to contract terms obtained by The Associated Press. Rodríguez has a $6 million player option for 2028 and if he declines that option, the Blue Jays have a $10 million club option.

The option would become a player option if Neris pitches in 60 games this season or finishes 45, is not on the injured list for the final game of the season and does not have a significant injury.

James Paxton and the Los Angeles Dodgers reworked their one-year contract, lowering the guarantee to $7 million from $11 million while still allowing the 35-year-old left-hander to earn up to $13 million if he is healthy during the early part of the season and starts at least 20 games.
