It has been almost seven decades since planned development began in Nepal. To date, Nepal has implemented 15 periodic plans, and the draft of the 16th Plan is currently in the final stages of preparation. This five-year plan is set to commence from the next fiscal year.
KATHMANDU, Jan 8: The members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have suggested to the National Planning Commission (NPC) to plan only implementable projects. The development projects should be planned on the basis of need and relevance, they reminded.
The 15th Periodic Plan of Nepal implemented in the fiscal year (FY) 2019/20 had envisaged installing 200,000 domestic bio-gas (DBG) plants. It also had a plan to replace about 40,000 tonnes of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) through the installation of 500 large biogas plants.
