Injured trampers keep rescue helicopter crew busy
Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter crew responded to a number of call-outs across the top of the south. (file photo). Two trampers have been flown to hospital after injuring themselves in separate incidents in the top of the south. The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter was called out to four incidents across Nelson and Marlborough on Sunday afternoon and evening. Pilot Barry McAuliffe said at about midday, the helicopter flew out to the Perry Saddle on the Heaphy Track, where a woman in her 60s was airlifted to Nelson Hospital after suffering a knee injury.
