Classic FM has announced the return of its much-loved programme to help keep anxious pets – and their owners – calm and relaxed this fireworks season. Classic FM’s Pet Classics returns for its sixth year on-air and will be hosted by the station’s weekend presenter and dog-lover Charlotte Hawkins. It will be broadcast on Saturday

New figures show the commercial station lost 426,000 listeners in the last quarter, with 4.5 million people listening each week as of March.

Bill, whom she described as a 'dear friend and colleague', worked with Charlotte on Good Morning Britain and Classic FM and died from prostate cancer aged 66 in August last year.

Hosted for a second year by GMB's and Classic FM's weekend presenter Charlotte Hawkins, 47, who will be joined in the studio by her dog Frank.

The station has grown and grown since it first broadcast in September 1992 and now reaches five million people across the course of a week.
