Lower-decibel Boiler Room to reopen MIKE BERRY The Star Courier The City Council Monday approved permits for a new operator for the former Boiler Room bar in downtown Kewanee. The bar and restaurant at 206 N. Chestnut St. has been closed for some time. The property was recently purchased by Moore Tire, which is expanding its operation across the street from the tavern property. Moore Tire is leasing the Boiler Room property to a company called Big Slots LLC.
