Ex-police officers accused of sending grossly offensive communications after investigation
Six former Metropolitan Police officers have been charged with sending racist messages.
The text messages allegedly include racist remarks about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as well as comments about sending migrants to Rwanda.
It comes after a BBC Newsnight investigation in October last year.
The Met has today named six former police officers it has accused of sending racist messages in a Whatsapp group. The men all retired between 2001 and 2015 and at one time worked in the Diplomatic Protection Group
