The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reinstated the former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mohammed Dauda. Justice Peter Ige on Thursday said the evidence that led to the dismissal of Dauda was frivolous and lacking in merit and awarded the sum of N1 million to the former NIA DG. Delivering judgement in an appeal filed by NIA, the Judge also resolved all the contentious issues against the agency in favour of Dauda who is a respondent in the suit.

The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal by a former minister, Uche Ogah, who was laying claim to the APC’s governorship ticket.

A five-member panel of the apex court unanimously held that there was no merit in the suit filed by David Edevbie with respect to the Delta PDP governorship tussle.

The Supreme Court is billed to deliver final judgement on the PDP governorship tussle in Delta State on Friday.

The Appeal Court ruled that the national leadership of the party has the power to dissolve the executive committee of Kano State chapter.
