A grim warning has been issued for beachgoers after a shiver of sharks was spotted devouring a whale carcass near a popular beach.     A dead sperm whale was found floating 300m east of Broulee Island, on New South Wales' South Coast, around 6.30pm Saturday.   Crew on the Westpac Surf Life Saving Helicopter saw a large number of sharks feeding on the carcass and notified police.  Police have advised swimmers and recreational boat users to be wary of a heightened risk of sharks in the waters near Broulee after the predators were seen feasting close to shore.  Scroll down for video

The warning comes after the carcass of a whale was founding floating in the water approximately 300 metres east of Broulee Island around 6.30pm today (Saturday 19 December 2020).
