Mpumalanga businessman battles new illegal coal mining case


A businessperson in Mpumalanga who is charged alongside ANC politician Bongani Bongo and nine others in relation to dodgy land sales worth R123.9 million is in hot water again after a case was opened against him for illegally mining coal.
Vusi Magagula (50) is, however, denying any wrongdoing and has vowed to fight to the bitter end to clear his name after XDSL 504 Tradingdirectors, Labane Koloko and Solomon Sithole, laid a charge of fraud against him in the Dirkiesdorp Police Station near Wakkerstroom, Mpumalanga.
Koloko and Sithole have accused Magagula’s company, Loskop Colliery, of extracting tons of coal worth about R10 million from Loskop Coal Mine, which has been under business rescue since 2017. ....
