Dr. Lulu Bravo
Dr. Lulu Bravo, executive director of the Philippine Foundation for Vaccination, stressed this during a ‘’Bakit Bakuna Roadshow’’ for COVID-19 Vaccine Program for Communities forum at the House of Representatives today.
‘’It (vaccination) is safe even in immunocompromised people,’’ she explained, noting that there are now several vaccines being used globally.
Bravo emphasized that no vaccine is 100 percent safe and is not 100 percent effective.
She, however, emphasized that some vaccines prevent cancer and prevent the development of antibiotic resistance.
Vaccines also empower women and promote peace, she said.
‘’Listen to our experts,’’ Bravo said, adding that a lot of communicating on the good effects of the COVID-19 vaccines is needed.

Quezon City Rep. Alfred Vargas has asked government to tap the services of the country’s social workers in helping government restore people’s trust on the state vaccination program as he cited their impact in helping ensure success in the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program.
Rep. Alfred Vargas
Vargas, chairman of the House Committee on Social Services, said government must act double time in convincing a good majority of Filipinos to allow COVID-19 vaccination, stressing that social workers can help out address the problem.
“They know their communities and can convince them to participate in the COVID vaccination process,” said Vargas.
"When the incidence is so high that a 50% efficacy would really be good enough so we have that kind of protection, because no protection of course is worse than a partial protection, so I guess that would be a good efficacy rate should you be able to get that vaccine," Dr. Lulu Bravo, executive director of Philippine Foundation for Vaccination, said Friday.
