Covid-19 is raging in Greater Bangkok, including several crowded communities in the capital, and infections were partly linked to visits to pubs and Songkran travel, according to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration.
Taweesilp Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Tuesday that from April 28, the number of Covid-19 cases in Greater Bangkok surpassed those in 73 provinces combined. He cited 956 cases in Greater Bangkok and 794 in 73 other provinces over the past 24 hours.

SAMUT PRAKAN: A Myanmar worker who had been placed in isolation against Covid-19 jumped to his death from a factory dormitory in Phra Samut Chedi district on Saturday afternoon.
Pol Capt Suwit Phudonnang, a duty officer at Phra Samut Chedi police station, said the incident occurred at about 3.30pm at a factory manufacturing steel products in Soi Suksawat 78 at Moo 7 village in tambon Nai Khlong Bang Plakot.
Police and doctors rushed to the factory, which is located in a 10-rai area and had been sealed off. Only the police and doctors in PPE suits were allowed inside.

Teen fight cuts boy s life short
The mother of a 12-year-old boy killed by a stray bullet during a teen fight outside a Si Sa Ket temple is appealing to police to arrest the culprit.
Wassana Wapeeneh
Wassana Wapeeneh, 39, left a message on Facebook last week pleading with police to speed up the case as the young man whose stray bullet killed her son, Premnach Pluem Sarapol, 12, remains free.
Pluem was playing with his friends at Wat Ban Nong I Tong on Dec 16 where locals had gathered to celebrate a birthday.
