Voters will decide Nov. 5 whether to tax themselves to support construction of a new city library and community center at Albert Park.
Organizers are seeking a 30-year annual parcel tax collecting 14.5 cents per square foot of "improved building area" and $75 per vacant lot.
"We believe that now is the right time to ask the community to support this project," said Joe O'Hehir, board member of the San Rafael Public Library Foundation who is leading the initiative.
