The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has disclosed that the Extended Special Public Works programme (ESPW) was conceived as a strategy to tackle growing unemployment and insecurity in the country.
Aregbesola, who spoke during the flag-off of the Osun State special public works programme at the Local Government Service Commission, Government Secretariat, Abere Osun State.
The Minister who was represented by the former Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security in the State, Mr Kunle Ige, said the programme is aimed at addressing the most vulnerable people in the society from the economic effect of the coronavirus pandemic. ....

Okowa lauds FG's Special Public Works Programme – Nigerian Observer

ASABA – Delta State Governor, Dr.Ifeanyi Okowa on Tuesday commended the Federal Government on the commencement of the Expanded Special Public Works Programme in the country.
Okowa gave the commendation at the official flag-off of the Special Public Works Programme (the 774,000 jobs) for the South-South Geopolitical zone held at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Asaba.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Governor Okowa expressed excitement on the commencement of the Programme adding that the program will help curb unemployment in the country.
He advised the beneficiaries to see the opportunity as their little beginning while looking to the unveiling of similar projects to engage more Nigerians out of poverty. ....

FG flags off Extended Special Public Works Programme to engage 774,000 Nigerians

The Lagos State Government has said that the state is currently providing free health insurance to 40,000 residents in recognition of the economic status of many Lagosians especially the less privileged.
This is as the state has also launched a crowdfunding programme and installment payment plan, all geared towards providing access for residents and ramping up facilities in the State for effective and efficient healthcare.
This disclosure was made by the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, while speaking at the launch of Ilera Eko Day, a symbolic social campaign designed to integrate Lagos residents into the health insurance policy of the State government, on Tuesday, at LTV Blue Roof, Agidingbi, Ikeja. ....

The commencement of the Expanded Special Public Works Programme of the Federal Government has attracted the commendation of Delta State government.
Giving the commendation at the official flag-off of the programme for the South-South Geopolitical zone in Asaba, Gov Ifeanyi Okowa also applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for not making the exercise a political issue adding that the program would help curb unemployment in the country.
774,000 jobs are being created across the country through the program with Delta state having 25,000 based on the number of local government areas.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, the governor advised the beneficiaries to see the opportunity as their little beginning while looking to the unveiling of similar projects to engage more Nigerians out of poverty. ....
