A chance meeting led to the birth of a powerful music duo that’s been making rounds in the River Region, including a couple of local gigs this weekend. The Lacy-Todd Duo (Lacy Lynn and Todd Fulmer) perform in Prattville on Friday at Adrienne’s Downtown Bar from 9 p.m.-midnight. After a little bit of sleep, they’ll be back in action the next morning from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Riverwalk Stadium’s Club Car Bar during the 17th annual Autism Crawfish Boil in downtown Montgomery. Lynn and Fulmer met thanks to a house party held by another of Montgomery's music greats, Wyatt Edmondson.

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. -- A driver was killed when their sedan went into a pond next to a service road beside Interstate 95 on Wednesday. The accident happened near Exit 98, when a driver headed north on I-95 went off the road, through fencing, across Campground Road and ended up in the pond. The victim's name was not released. It's unclear if the driver died before the car entered the pond. Two child seats were pulled out of the car, but it's not believed any children were in the car at the time of the crash.
