Heat lamp believed to have caused structure fire on Quincy

A structure fire reported to the Plainview Fire Department on Friday is believed to have been caused by a heat lamp.
The department responded to 903 Quincy St. around 7:40 p.m. and found a detached residential garage fully engulfed in flames. The firefighters brought the fire under control and extinguished it by 9:04 p.m. but the garage and a small shed on the same property were deemed a total loss. Minor damages were also noted to the residence as well as the residence at 901 Quincy.
The homeowner told the department that a heat lamp was plugged in to keep a dog warm at the rear of the garage. That is what FD believes likely caused the fire. ....
