Last year, after years of fundraising, Haven High School's greenhouse became a reality. Before the pandemic hit, students in the agriculture program grew lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers and gave the vegetables to the school's cafeteria, where they were placed in the salad bar.  This model, along with lettuce from indoor school tower gardens, is taking place at schools throughout the state - from Hutchinson to Wellington to Medicine Lodge. Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge to host Celebration of the Young Child Special to The Oak Ridger The Children’s Museum is still open on a part-time basis because of the pandemic. The Museum’s schedule is Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m, and Sunday from 1 until 4 p.m.   For everyone’s safety, staff and volunteers in public areas of the Museum wear masks, and the Museum is vigilant about cleaning and visitor safety protocols.
