The library will host 1,200+ lectures, seminars, performances, events, and activities for over 4 million visitors annually.
Commenting on the high quality and vibrancy of architectural practice in regional areas, NSW Regional Country Division jury chair Noel Thomson said, “Buildings in regional areas help to encourage social connections in a town. As the custodians of the built environment, architects are well-placed to deliver projects that increase these bonds and lift our regional areas.”
AILA president Claire Martin observed that the past 18 months had highlighted the strengths and vulnerabilities of our cities, underlining the need for public spaces to deliver fundamental social, environmental, and economic change.
