The department of public instruction in Dakshina Kannada has sent a proposal to the ministry of education to bring 18 schools under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) scheme for the next academic year.
The minister also highlighted the concept of introducing 10 bag-less days in school every year.
In the record-high allocation for the Department of School Education and Literacy, the government has allocated over Rs 73,000 crore for school education in the interim Budget for 2024-25. This marks an increase from the Revised Estimates of Rs 72,473.80 crore in the previous fiscal.
