WBAL Radio 1090 AM - Bus issues in Howard County continue, 20 routes impacted

On Monday, thousands of Howard County students showed up late to their first day back after school buses didn’t show up on their scheduled routes.

Twenty-one elementary schools, five middle schools, and four high schools in the Howard County Public School System were designated as “constrained” by the school board last week, meaning they are expected to be over capacity for enrollment in the 2025-26 school year.

Pointers Run Elementary School, Mount Hebron High School and Worthington Elementary School are reporting COVID-19 cases in the double digits for the first time in months and have the highest positive case numbers in the school system as of this week, according to state health department data.

After successfully investing and selling an imaginary $100,000 in the Fall Stock Market game, a team of four students from Pointers’ Run Elementary School in Clarksville were recognized as the Maryland Central Regional Elementary School Champions for their abilities to play the stock market.
