LANSING Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has charged a Lowell police officer with three counts after he allegedly injured a passenger during a high-speed chase through Kent and Ionia counties in August.
Nessel also cleared a Shelby Township police officer of any criminal wrongdoing following a November 2018 shooting that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man.
Lowell Police Officer Jason Diaz, 40, of Wyoming, was charged with one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, a 10-year felony; one count of misconduct in office, a five-year felony; and one count of weapons, careless discharge causing injury, a two-year high court misdemeanor.
