Group Village Headman Mtsiriza Jailed 8 For Rape in Dowa

Group Village Headman (GVH) Mtsiriza has been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment with hard labour by the First the Grade Magistrate Court in DowaÂ for raping 21-year-old woman.
Police Prosecutor Christopher Daluni told the courtÂ that the VGH committed the crime on the night of December 25, 2020, when the woman’s husband went to attend a Christmas party within the village, leaving the wife alone.
While the woman was fast asleep, she felt someone having sexual intercourse with her and when she stirred up,Â she discover ed that VGH, whose real name is Damiano Chimkango, was on her and sheÂ screamed for help butÂ the convict managed to flee the scene. ....

Man slapped 8 years jail sentence for impregnating niece – Face of Malawi

Dowa First Grade Magistrate Court has sentenced 26-year-old Katiwell Chazama to 8 years imprisonment for raping and impregnating his 16-year-old niece.
Police Prosecutor Christopher Daluni told the court that the convict committed the offence on October 20, 2020 at Mandala Village in the district.
According to Daluni, the convict pleaded guilty to the offence.
Medical results from Dowa District Hospital confirmed that the girl was indeed raped.
Passing sentence, First Grade Magistrate Amran Phiri sentenced the convict to 8 years imprisonment to send a warning to would-be offenders.
Chazama hails from Mandala Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mkukula in Dowa.
