Apple has removed an app named Kimi from its App Store. This app which posed as a vision testing app was reportedly a platform which allowed users to watch pirated movies on their smartphones.
Shortly before Apple removed it, the movie and TV show piracy app Kimi was being downloaded more than Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+.
Kimi was disguised as an app that tests your eyesight by making you play spot the difference in similar photos, but it actually contained bootlegged movies and shows.
An app called Kimi is trending at number eight on the App Store’s top free entertainment apps and number 46 overall.
