TUCSON (KVOA) — Arizona State Forestry says that the Post Fire southwest of Benson has jumped SR 90.
A wildfire north of Tucson and two more in Cochise County have burned for days.
TUCSON (KVOA) — According to the Arizona State Forestry, the Post Fire, southwest of Benson, is at 921 acres and is 75% contained.
Arizona’s wildfire season got off to a slow start because of the wet winter — but now as temperatures warm — larger fires are popping up, especially in southern Arizona. While rain is welcomed, the state’s monsoon season may or may not help. There are two growing fires raging in Cochise County because of the abundance of dry vegetation.
Two wildfires in Cochise County were deemed human caused and a fire north of Tucson is nearly contained.
