Victims of Pottstown fire identified as Reading School District counselor, her husband and son


POTTSTOWN — A 47-year-old woman rescued from a fire Monday that killed her husband and son also died of injuries, authorities said Tuesday. 
She was identified by the Lehigh County Coroner s office as Bernadette Norton, 47, and was a counselor at Lauer s Park Elementary School in Reading, the school district announced Tuesday afternoon.
Also killed in the early morning fire in a twin home at 7 East Fifth St. were Joseph Norton, 48, and a 14-year-old boy.

Pottstown Fire Chief Frank Hand said the three victims were father, mother and son.
Joseph Norton, 48, died of smoke and soot inhalation, according to the results of an autopsy performed by the Montgomery County Coroner s office.
