An eight-foot-tall statue of Mahatma Gandhi has been unveiled at Tolstoy Farm in South Africa. The statue, which joins existing busts of Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, is a tribute to Gandhi's time at the commune he established during his tenure as a lawyer in South Africa. The farm was donated by Gandhi's friend, Herman Kallenbach, to help the community resist discriminatory laws. Tolstoy Farm had fallen into disrepair but has been restored by the Mahatma Gandhi Remembrance Organisation.
