Himachal Pradesh Forest Minister Rakesh Pathania on Monday offered his family s nursing institute to be used as a COVID-19 care centre.
In view of the rising COVID-19 cases, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader wrote a letter to Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar Prajapati for making use of VVM Nursing Institute located in Malkwal, Nurpur.
We will also provide free services of 50 trained nurses along with 100 beds at the institute. Apart from this, food and lodging will also be made available for patients, he said. ....

New Delhi: After confirmation of bird flu in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, GoI has set up a control room in New Delhi to take stock on a daily basis of preventive and control measures undertaken by the state authorities.
Occurring naturally in wild waterfowl, bird flu can spread to domestic poultry, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. The disease is transmitted via contact with an infected bird s faeces, or secretions from its nose, mouth or eye. The last major case of bird flu in Kerala was reported in 2016. ....

New Delhi [India], January 6 (ANI): The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying on Wednesday informed that avian influenza has been reported from the four states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Kerala at 12 epicentres.
The government had earlier issued an advisory to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh on January 1 to avoid further spread of the infection.
As per the information received from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, control measures are being taken as per the guidelines of National Action Plan of avian influenza, the Ministry said. On January 5, another advisory was issued to Himachal Pradesh where the state has been advised to take measures so as to avoid further spread of disease to poultry. ....
