Adhering to strict Covid-19 protocol, the family had buried the deceased without even taking a look at his face. It began on May 1 when Payappa Satyappa Hallolli, 82, was admitted to Venus Hospital in Belagavi city after he tested positive for Covid-19. The next day, hospital authorities phoned Hallolli’s family saying he had died. Covid enforcement in Cuttack BHUBANESWAR: Pramila Barik, a 52-year-old woman in Unit-IV area of the city, has been busy over the past few days trying to meet the order of 500 masks that she has got. Pramila has been making masks and earning her livelihood after she lost her job as a maid after the lockdown was announced last March. The demand for masks has increased again as the state sees a surge in fresh Covid-19 cases. “Last year I sold 50-60 masks a day, which later dropped to 10 a day as many people stopped wearing it and Covid cases also had gone down significantly. Now the sales have picked up again and I have to deliver an order for 500 pieces that I have got from an organisation,” said Pramila. She sells cotton masks at Rs 20 per piece. ....
