The entire operation of DRI is based on the information obtained from the investigations related to a May 2022 case in which DRI seized 5kg of smuggled gold from the Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai.
A man-son duo were arrested in Mumbai's Zaveri Bazaar for their alleged link with a gold smuggling racket, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence said on Saturday.
The operation is based on an information from DRI May 2022 seizure of 5 kg gold smuggled from Mumbai Air Cargo Complex investigation about a gold smuggling syndicate involving foreign nationals and hawala payments for payments abroad for contraband gold.
