SAN DIEGO — After quietly raising $98.7 million from key philanthropic supporters over the past five years, the San Diego Symphony announced Thursday that its new bayside concert venue downtown will officially be called The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. The name is in honor of its two top donors: Ernest and Evelyn Rady contributed the lead gift of $15 million toward the construction of the venue, while Joan and Irwin Jacobs gave $11 million.
