During the spring semester, Illinois State University students will be receiving an antigen COVID-19 test that will provide results within hours instead of days so those who do test positive can begin isolation and contact tracing as soon as possible. Saturday morning the Board of Trustees held a livestreamed meeting on YouTube in which the new antigen testing was unanimously approved for spring semester. "A vital instrument to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on campus and in the community was our COVID-19 testing efforts in the fall," ISU President Larry Dietz said. "For the spring, the university has decided to utilize an antigen test as its primary testing for COVID-19."
