The Barnstable Youth Commission will virtually present the 7th annual Community Substance Abuse and Prevention Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
Geared toward keeping parents informed about drugs in schools, the forum will feature a 30-minute pre-recorded presentation by local experts followed by a 30-minute live Q&A session.
Speakers include Debra Ciavola, executive director of Behavioral Health Services, Cape Cod Healthcare, who will provide supportive language for easily translatable terms and phrasing to start productive conversations with your child(ren).
Barnstable Police School Resource Officer David Downs will discusses facts about the laws that would impact you and your child if he or she is found in possession of controlled substances. This knowledge will help with the Q&A discussions and prepare you for the challenges ahead if you are faced with such a situation. ....
