Passenger bus company Putco says it will shed 214 jobs due to financial constraints triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The company labour relations executive Pride Anozie says restrictions to the passenger carrying capacity impacted its profit margin.
Anozie says private hire and commercial contracts were halted at the start of the lockdown, further crippling the company.
“I think the rationale around the whole things is purely due to the pandemic itself, Covid-19, which had an impact on our passenger levels and it ended up affecting and impacting our revenue.
