El Dorado Correctional Facility reports death of staff member from COVID-19 The El Dorado Correctional Facility said one of its employees has died of complications of COVID-19. Gabe Morales served as a Unit Team Supervisor.  He joined the Kansas Department of Corrections in 2014 as a Corrections Counselor at the Winfield Correctional Facility. He accepted a promotion to Program Provider at the El Dorado prison in 2015 and then was promoted to the Unit Team Supervisor position in November.
