The government on Thursday said it has blocked more than 60 social media accounts, including YouTube channels and Facebook and Instagram pages, in the last two months for spreading anti-India fake news.

I&B Minister, Anurag Thakur has assured that strong a action will be taken against those indulging in peddling ‘fake news.’

Earlier this week, the government refused to renew the licence of Malayalam new channel MediaOne.
