Expanding lion habitat in Gujarat gets support from the government
With their numbers increasing to 674 in 2020 from 523 in 2015, lions are expanding their habitat and are migrating to other districts like Botad and Surendranagar in Gujarat. According to Anuradha Sahu , Chief Conservator of Forest, Junagadh, the dispersion of the lion population is happening as a natural process, and there is a lot of public support for Project Lion.
