Allies, you'd have to medically resuscitate half the republican conference. it could be a political disaster, not to mention a strategic disaster. but it's worse than that. it's not as though russia and iran showed up in syria yesterday. moscow was invited by the obama administration in 2013, they interviewed militarily in 2015. i was one of those republicans. i remember a lot of republicans saying this was a dangerous concession to moscow in effort to give them a foothold. they have a port on the eastern mediterranean, give them a foothold in this region. we are cementing their foothold now. ...
