Midwest Communications PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria Community Development Department has been granted an additional $45,000 by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) for demolition of abandoned residential structures in the 61605 zip-code. The money was granted through IHDA’s Abandoned Property Program funds. Since 2015, the development department has been awarded over $430,000 through the program, which has allowed for 35 structures to be demolished.
