U.S. Treasurer Lynn Malerba Visits the Chickahominy Indian Tribe in Virginia

The Chickahominy Indian Tribe, located in Providence Forge, Virginia, welcomed United States Treasurer Marilynn “Lynn” Malerba (Mohegan Tribe) and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo  on Thursday to discuss the historic investments in Indian Country made by the Biden-Harris administration. During their visit, the Treasury leaders toured the Tribal Health Clinic and engaged with a family who had received assistance from the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF), a provision of the American Rescue Plan (ARP).

Exclusive-Deputy Treasury chief Adeyemo says US well-prepared to weather China headwinds

U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said on Thursday that China's economic weakness may cause difficulties for some developing economies and regions that depend on it for growth, but added the U.S. economy is well positioned to weather headwinds this will create. Adeyemo told Reuters during a visit to the Chickahominy Tribe in southeastern Virginia that the Treasury is closely monitoring economic developments in China, where growth is faltering amid a worsening property slump, weak consumer spending and tumbling credit growth.
