Three villages in Dharmapuri and one in Erode remain inaccessible to vehicles
During every election, three hill hamlets in Dharmapuri district and one in Erode get polling materials delivered by donkeys. For years, these villages have remained inaccessible to vehicles, and can be reached only on foot. As in the past, donkeys on Monday began to trek up to help in the election process.
In the Anthiyur Assembly constituency, election officials, two donkeys and a few local people trekked a nine-km jungle terrain to ferry electronic voting machines (EVMs), Voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) units and other materials to Kathirimalai village that has 134 votes.

Posters of the BJP, welcoming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, came in handy for the DMK alliance to find a reason to tell the electorate to shun the AIADMK-BJP alliance. The poster read “Welcome Yogi Adityanath to
Dakshina Pradesh”. The IT wing of the DMK immediately turned active, and social media platforms were agog with posts, calling on the electorate to shun the BJP, “as wanted to change the name of Tamil Nadu”.
