A preliminary probe submitted to the collector in the first week of March 2023 had found the role of both jail staff and treasury office as responsible for the embezzlement
ASP Indrajeet Bakalwar, who is the head of SIT probing the scam, said that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has already been registered against Usha Raj. Letters have been sent to the income tax department to do the needful, he said.
Usha Raj, under whose tenure the scam took place is on judicial custody till April 17 at Indore's Central Jail.
Sources reveal that monitoring has been done from Bhopal into all aspects of the scam.
