Objective: To explore whole-grain food definitions in labeling and relevance to consumers and the food industry. Design: Semistructured focus groups and interviews. Setting: Online. Participants: Consumers (n = 43) aged ≥ 18 years currently purchasing/consuming grain foods. Food industry participants (n = 17) currently/recently employed within grain food companies. Phenomenon of Interest: Impact of using whole-grain food definitions in labeling. Analysis: Inductive thematic analysis. Results: Six major themes included: consumer knowledge and understanding of whole-grain foods; factors affecting consumer grain food choices; consumer skepticism of labeling; consumer preferences toward whole-grain labeling; acceptability and feasibility of whole-grain food definitions in the food industry; and food innovation/reformulation. Background: There is limited understanding of the challenges experienced and supports required to aid effective advocacy of the Global Action Plan on Physical Activity (GAPPA). The purpose of this study was to assess the challenges experienced and supports needed to advocate for the GAPPA across countries of different income levels. Methods: Stakeholders working in an area related to the promotion of physical activity were invited to complete an online survey. The survey assessed current awareness and engagement with the GAPPA, factors related to advocacy, and the perceived challenges and supports related to advocacy for implementation of the GAPPA. Closed questions were analyzed in SPSS, with a Pearson’s chi-square test used to assess differences between country income level. Open questions were analyzed using inductive thematic analysis. OBJECTIVE To determine how innovation occurs and identify the factors that support innovation in a rural hospital in New South Wales, Australia. DESIGN Situated within a larger case study, this research collected qualitative data using semi-structured interviews. SETTING Inner regional hospital, located in a city, providing a broad range of acute and primary health services to a rural community. PARTICIPANTS Hospital executives, department managers, consultant and staff specialist surgeons, physicians, nursing, nursing managers and allied health staff were recruited after a phone, personal or email approach. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE Qualitative interviews (n=25) conducted in a rural hospital. RESULTS Fourteen innovations were identified.
