Gainesville’s annual Stop the Violence Saturday to drill into students a message that guns won’t solve anything was especially pointed this year given the deaths and wounding of young people in shootings.
But that night it happened again, this time downtown. Three people including a juvenile were injured with gunshot wounds. None were life-threatening.
A gun recovered at the scene had been stolen in Alachua. Another gun that was found in a car in which a man fled had the serial number rubbed off.
Two arrests were made but the role the two played in the incident is not certain, said Gainesville Police spokesman Graham Glover.
