The board of online food delivery firm Zomato has approved the purchase of quick commerce company Blinkit, which was earlier known as Grofers. This deal has been done for Rs 4,447.48 crore.
Ola has begun offering select food items in certain parts of Bengaluru within 10 minutes through its quick commerce grocery delivery arm Ola Dash. Items on the menu include khichdi, pizza and rolls, which Ola described as “freshly prepared”.
Unlike Zomato, this new service will be in the arena of players such as Big Basket, Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy’s Instamart.
Big Basket's higher product capacity allows buyers broader choice, as compared to other quick delivery services such as BlinkIt and Zepto.
