December storm dumps several inches of snow across Mass.

QUINCY –  Power had been restored to nearly all Quincy and Weymouth customers by noon Thursday following a rare December nor easter that moved in overnight and left much of the South Shore under nearly a foot of snow.
Strong winds in Quincy and along the coast pushed snow around as crews tried to keep roads clear.
As of about 11 a.m., Milton had 15.2 inches of snow, Braintree got 13 inches and  Randolph got a foot, according to the National Weather Service. By about noon, Sharon was blanketed by 15.4 inches of snow.
Farther south, where snow turned to rain mid-morning,there was less snow. Duxbury had a little more than 7 inches and Marshfield had 6.7 inches shortly before 10 a.m.  ....
