The questions are many, but at the top of the list, how can a modern airliner flying at 35,000 feet lose all contact? a former member of the ntsb that investigates crashes. you say that without a distress signal indicates a catastrophic failure, why is that the case? >> there so many methods for the plane to communicate with the ground. we had a complete radio failure. this airplane has a multitude of radios. they had to communicate with the groun ground. it's mind-boggling and got everybody baffled.
