A database with details of 700 million LinkedIn users has been found for sale on a hacking forum.
The database has been offered for sale since June 22 by a user called TomLiner on Raid Forums, including a sample of 1 million records provided to prove the claim. However, no price was listed to purchase the database. The listing said only that details could be obtained by contacting the poster and that payment could be made by MM/Escrow.
Privacy Sharks reported Sunday that it reviewed the sample and can confirm its legitimacy. The sample database includes full names, gender, email addresses, phone numbers and industry information. ....

533M Facebook user records offered on a hacking forum
A database containing details of 533 million Facebook users is being offered on a hacking forum.
First spotted April 3 by Alon Gal, chief technology officer of Hudson Rock Ltd., the data was posted by a user called TomLiner on Raid Forums and is claimed to include user names, mobile phone numbers, gender, occupation, city, country, marital status and and in some cases email addresses.
The validity of the data has been confirmed by various sites, including Insider. Bleeping Computer noted that the database includes records and phone numbers for three of Facebook’s founders: Mark Zuckerberg, Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz. ....

Widely-used cyber crime forums targeted in hacking spree


The most recent hack, affecting an invite-only cyber crime forum known as Maza, took place this week, with security firm Intel 471 revealing that its users were redirected to a breach notification page upon signing in. This was posted alongside a 35-page PDF file allegedly containing a portion of forum user data, comprising more than 3,000 rows of usernames, partially obfuscated password hashes, email addresses, and other contact details.
The Maza hack follows attacks against Verified in January, Crdclub in February, and Exploit last week - all well-known dark web forums. This is in addition to a recent fifth attack against Hydra, a dark web marketplace known for the trade of illegal drugs and other criminal services, according to reports from Russian media. ....

Maza, a Russian carding and fraud discussion forum, has been breached, and hackers have leaked users email addresses and forum credentials, security firms report.
The breach occurred Wednesday evening, experts say, and led to many types of information being exposed: user IDs; usernames; email addresses; passwords in both hashed and obfuscated form; Yahoo, MSN and Skype credentials; and other data that could help identify individuals.
A 35-page PDF file leaked on the dark web, with 3,000 rows of data, includes alleged user information, experts say. Exposed data includes ICQ numbers, which could be used to connect multiple accounts to the same user across many forums and different nicknames over time, threat intelligence firm Flashpoint reports. ....
